Matt Wiseman is a Freelance Writer and Photographer from Sydney, Australia.

I could keep writing in the third person, but that wouldn’t be very personable and who am I kidding, I’m not fooling anybody here…

My writing and photos have appeared in both print and online publications including Mountainwatch, Chillfactor Ski Magazine, Powderlife Magazine and various inflight airline magazines, et al.

I’ve photographed ski royalty in the likes of Cody Townsend and Elyse Saugstad as well as real royalty in the Prince of Brunei (an odd week).

I’ve produced snow centric sponsored editorial and advertorial for brands like Oakley, Rip Curl and Le Bent as well as antipodean ski resorts Thredbo, Perisher, Mt Buller and those around Queenstown, NZ.

Like many Aussies, I cut my ski seasonaire teeth in Whistler, Canada. I then spent the next two season’s working as a ski guide and photographer in Japan for Niseko Photography and Guiding. I worked as a tail guide and photographer for Big Wave Catskiing in 2018/19 becoming a jaded snow snob in the process, which filtered into my daily snow reports, weekly video snow reports and bi-weekly condition wrap-ups and photo-journals published on Mountainwatch. (some vision below).

Amongst these snowy escapades I continued to acquaint myself with more capricious snow conditions in Australia and completed both a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication (Journalism) and a Bachelor of Laws with an elective focus on Environmental Law and Sport Law.

I currently work as the Assistant Editor of Mountainwatch.com and as the Social Media, Community and Ambassador Manager for Le Bent, the latter of which which sees me running social media accounts, assisting in the creative direction, copywriting, and managing ambassador’s and athletes.

I am available for editorial and commercial photography assignment both domestically and internationally.
